WHO WE ARE

The Strengthening Forecast-based Early Actions in Cyclone Prone coastal region in Bangladesh (STEP) consortium was established in 2021 as a collaborative effort among organizations with extensive expertise in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The consortium’s primary objective is to enhance the resilience of institutions and vulnerable communities in cyclone-prone coastal regions of Bangladesh by promoting effective Disaster Risk Management (DRM) governance.
Comprised of four international agencies, two strategic partners, and three implementing partners, the STEP consortium is focused on implementing forecast-based anticipatory actions to mitigate the impact of cyclones. The participating agencies include Action Against Hunger (ACF), Cordaid, Plan International, United Purpose, Forewarn Bangladesh, Nirapad Network, Sheba Manab Kallyan Kendra (SMKK), South Asia Partnership (SAP) Bangladesh, and Uttaran.
